Installing a server OS is far more difficult than a Win 10 PC, Dispite all the resources available there can be alot of configuration required, depending on the roles installed, applications installed, share permissions, etc I must say, there is a lot of good advice given here but the best I think is to compare the cost of having a Server technician come onsite and quote you a plan to achive your needs reinstall or new device or start tallying the cost of downtime from your decision of trying to do it yourself on a 12 yo device!
